Ever decide to bake something and realize you have run out of one crucial ingredient? Pan Release! Pan Release is something that was invented to help your yummy desserts release from the pans they are baked in and believe me it works every time! I always seem to be running out of the concoction and it is kind of pricey. Today I found a recipe for making your own. Super easy! Here it is:
Homemade Pan Release
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup oil (canola or vegetable)
Place all ingredients in a medium bowl and whisk well by hand. The mixture will be smooth and creamy.
Store in airtight container in refrigerator.
When ready to use:
Dip a pastry brush into mixture and spread over bottom and sides of cake pan.
